What is LEARN?

LEARN is the network of South Australian TAFE libraries. The network provides access to the learning resources held by libraries across the network, and promotes the effective use of these resources in TAFE programs.

Membership of LEARN is automatic for all library staff across TAFESA, including librarians, library technicians, library assistants, lecturers, lecturers' assistants and clerical staff.

The activities of LEARN are coordinated by LPG (the LEARN Planning Group). Each institute has a representative on the Group and a Convenor is elected annually.

The LEARN Network Services Librarian provides centralized cataloguing and bibliographic services for SA TAFE libraries, as well as coordinating the network's internal and external webpages.

Our mission

The LEARN network:

  • actively encourages, guides and empowers students and staff to acquire lifelong learning skills through the provision of information literacy programs

  • supports and responds to changes in the educational programs and delivery methods of TAFE SA Institutes

  • encourages and facilitates access to a wide range of up-to-date, relevant information and learning resources, including those in electronic formats

  • promotes and implements the principles of equal opportunity, including issues of social justice and equity.
