Andrew Bowman Andrew has been teaching in the VET sector for many years. At first sight he is an unlikely person to be involved in Internet delivery of teaching and learning materials, because one of his other passions is the archaic craft of blacksmithing and farriery. He justifies the interest in the two saying they are both significant in providing communication. Little over a hundred years ago it was the pony express and Cobb and Co who provided communication, today the Internet. To demonstrate a personal commitment to the net, he located a course in blacksmithing in America and after working out his travel itinerary on the net he went there and studied actually and not virtually.

He teaches Communication at the Canberra Institute of Technology, and is one of the founding members of the METALE team. The METALE team has developed the concept of the Metaphoric Learning Environment in which the learning material is located.
